Module 5 of 9 · A4 · Precursors in the aluminium value chain
2.Three ways a precursor reaches your process
(a) Made in your own installation. Record its yearly average SEE and the quantity used. If nothing intermediate leaves the site, you can use one joint "bubble" process instead.
(b) Bought from another installation. Collect:
- country of origin and producing installation (ID, UN/LOCODE, address, coordinates);
- production route (primary or secondary);
- sector parameters (scrap per tonne, pre-consumer share, alloy content over 1 %; see A5);
- the precursor's SEE and the supplier's reporting period dates;
- quantity used in each of your processes.
(c) From the EU or an exempt country. Emissions count as zero; you still report the quantity.
